2012 Prophecy is by now so famous that it is even made into a blockbuster Hollywood movie in late 2009 and people even use 2012 as the explanation for a spate of natural events around the world, like the Chilean earthquakes, the unusual weather in Europe and etc.

The Mayans were a very ancient civilization in South America, emerging in the 3rd century BC and dying out in the 16th century, after the Spanish conquest.

The Mayans acquired a profound understanding of astronomy and metaphysics. The result is a highly complex mathematical system and, more importantly, a profoundly meaningful organisation of time.

I shall skip the scientific details and say that the world is currently going through a time of immense upheaval and the future we face is highly uncertain, not with the volatile cycle of the global economical system, and high unemployment rate in US and credit crisis in Europe. This perceptibly affects the behavior and thinking of us human beings that future is a bleak one.

What I do suggest is that we will have to leave the old values behind, replacing them with better, truer ones more suited to equipping us for the future and beyond. There is so much mind “clatter” each of us has to purge and throw away.

That’s why I’m asking, in these times where the forecasts are already pretty catastrophic, that you set your compass set firmly in the right direction and hold your course from the present to the future with optimism and courage!
